School Description:

DeVry University strives to close our society’s opportunity gap by preparing learners to thrive in careers shaped by continuous technological change. Through innovative programs, relevant partnerships and exceptional care, we empower students to meaningfully improve their lives, communities, and workplaces.

DeVry was founded in 1931 by inventor and educator Dr. Herman DeVry. In the 90 years since its founding, DeVry has become known for quality, technology, and career-oriented education. The University was accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) as a single entity on February 1, 2002, the result of a merger of DeVry Institutes, first accredited in 1981, and Keller Graduate School of Management, first accredited in 1977.

DeVry operates nearly 20 physical locations across the U.S. and offers online undergraduate and graduate certificate and degree programs in business, technology, healthcare administration, and liberal arts that are career-oriented and focused on the demands of the workplace.

DeVry serves a diverse student body of adult learners with approximately 39% full-time; 61% part-time; 89% undergraduate; and 11% graduate students. 87% of DeVry’s student body choose the online modality, while 13% choose onsite. DeVry’s method of course delivery is online and blended/hybrid, which is a combination of online and onsite. DeVry University serves a large nontraditional student body.

In addition to serving non-traditional students, DeVry University admits a diverse student population ranging from 18 to 65+, with non-white students representing more than 50% of the total student population. The gender mix is typical of today’s college population, with a skew towards female students.
