East-West Healing Arts Institute, Inc. was established March 23, 2000 and first approved by the EAB that same year. East-West Healing Arts Institute is a school for therapeutic massage specializing in the integration of Eastern and Western modalities. We assist students in broadening their knowledge of the diverse massage techniques available and teach students to complement modern Western medical knowledge with traditional Eastern techniques. East-West is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), an agency recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education.

The Asian Bodywork and Therapeutic Massage Program prepares students in both the analysis and synthesis of knowledge and skills of Western and Eastern science and bodywork. Our interdisciplinary program includes thorough instruction in both Eastern and Western modalities of therapeutic massage, as well as a rigorous course of study in Western science. East-West has an integrated curriculum offering different perspectives and methods of Massage Therapy and bodywork. This comprehensive program provides 800 hours of training and instruction which may be completed in 10 months. The faculty is composed of highly skilled instructors who specialize in their field and are current with development and practices in their professional area.

Our student population is diverse, coming from many different cultural, ethnic, educational and experience backgrounds. Enrollment identifies students as 2 - 3 times more likely to be female, and while historically between the ages of 30 - 60, this is shifting towards a younger demographic.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, hold a high school or secondary school equivalency diploma or the international equivalent, they must be mentally and physically capable of giving and receiving massage. They must possess the ability to receive a 60 minute massage and perform a continuous 60 minute massage without sitting down. Applicants must complete a successful interview with the School Administrator or admissions representative and pass a criminal background check.
